Urban Sophisticate | Lincoln Park New Build
As a Chicago interior designer specializing in residential design in the Chicago area, Epic Interiors designed this Lincoln Park new build as a warm, modern home tailored to the needs of a large, multigenerational family. Built on a narrow city lot, the 7,500-square-foot residence spans four levels and includes seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, each thoughtfully designed to reflect individual personalities while maintaining a cohesive, elevated aesthetic. The goal was to create a home that feels both expansive and intimate, balancing modern design with comfort, functionality, and a strong sense of everyday livability.
Given the constraints of a vertical urban footprint, the design required precise space planning and a highly intentional approach to flow. Each level was carefully considered to ensure that the home feels connected rather than compartmentalized. The kitchen anchors the main living space, where steel and glass elements are softened by warm wood tones and custom cabinetry that maximizes every inch. A window backsplash and custom range hood bring in natural light while reinforcing the home’s modern architectural language. Throughout the home, layered materials, restrained neutrals, and subtle patterns create depth and warmth without overwhelming the space.
Epic Interiors approached this project as both a design and problem-solving exercise, embracing challenges with a calm, solutions-oriented mindset. Structural constraints, storage needs, and the complexity of designing for a family of seven were met with thoughtful, creative solutions that prioritize both beauty and function. Sustainable choices, including preserving and integrating materials where possible, further support a design that is both intentional and enduring.
As with all of Epic’s residential design work in the Chicago area, collaboration was central to the process. The result is a human-centered home that feels refined yet approachable, where each space supports connection, individuality, and ease of living. This project reflects Epic Interiors’ ability to bring modern warmth to even the most complex residential environments, creating a home that is as functional as it is visually compelling.
