Polished Comfort | Old Town
Epic Interiors approached this Old Town home as a full renovation designed to create a bright, inviting space that reflects the clients’ personality while enhancing everyday comfort. The goal was to transform the home into a cohesive, functional environment that supports family life, balances multiple design influences, and feels both elevated and approachable.
The design blends contemporary and traditional elements to create a layered, lived-in aesthetic. Neutral foundations allow texture, materiality, and carefully curated details to take the lead, while abundant natural light enhances the sense of openness throughout the home. In the main living areas, thoughtful furniture placement and material transitions create spaces that feel connected yet distinct, supporting both gathering and quieter moments of retreat.
The kitchen and dining areas serve as central hubs, designed to feel both practical and welcoming. Clean lines are softened by warm finishes and layered textures, creating a space that is as functional as it is comfortable. In the dining area, a calm, balanced palette and carefully scaled furnishings create a sense of ease, while artwork introduces moments of contrast and personality, becoming a focal point that energizes the space.
As with all of Epic’s residential design work in the Chicago area, this project reflects a client-centered approach rooted in interpretation rather than replication. Every detail was considered to support how the clients live, resulting in a home that feels cohesive, comfortable, and distinctly their own. The result is a thoughtfully designed environment where modern warmth, natural light, and personal expression come together to elevate everyday living.
