Epic Interiors approached this Wilmette ranch renovation as an opportunity to bring clarity, openness, and modern warmth to a home that once felt dark and compartmentalized. Working closely with the homeowners, the goal was to create a more functional, light-filled environment that better supports daily living while maintaining a calm, welcoming aesthetic.

The transformation began with a reimagining of the home’s core layout. A large, centrally located fireplace wall that once divided the kitchen and dining areas was removed, allowing the space to open fully and flow naturally. This shift made room for a more expansive kitchen with a large island, improved sightlines, and better integration between cooking, dining, and gathering spaces. Custom cabinetry, modern appliances, and thoughtful material selections bring both function and a sense of ease to the heart of the home.

Throughout the renovation, Epic Interiors focused on enhancing natural light and simplifying visual weight. In the living room, the existing fireplace was refined with a cleaner surround, while new furnishings, lighting, and a connected wet bar create a cohesive and inviting space. The primary suite was fully reconfigured to improve flow and comfort, replacing a constrained layout with a more open, intuitive design. The updated bathroom features a walk-in shower, brighter finishes, and carefully considered details that support daily routines while elevating the overall experience.

As with all of Epic’s residential design work in the Chicago area, this project reflects a client-centered approach grounded in thoughtful problem-solving and collaboration. The result is a human-centered home that feels balanced, modern, and deeply livable, where every design decision contributes to a greater sense of ease, functionality, and well-being.
