About Lucy:
Lucy Slivinski is a Chicago-based sculptor and installation artist whose work transforms salvaged materials into dynamic, light-filled forms that bridge sculpture, design, and environment. With more than four decades of experience, Slivinski has developed a distinctive practice rooted in upcycling metal, fiber, and industrial components, creating intricate structures that evoke natural rhythms and organic growth. Drawing inspiration from the cycles and forms of the natural world, her work channels a sense of movement, energy, and quiet strength, often referencing branches, landscapes, and cellular patterns. Slivinski’s large-scale installations and sculptural lighting pieces have been exhibited widely, including at EXPO Chicago, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Havana, and N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art, as well as major fairs such as Art Basel Miami and SCOPE. Her work is held in both public and private collections, and she has completed numerous public commissions throughout Chicago and internationally. Through her innovative material language and reverence for reuse, Slivinski creates immersive works that feel both grounded and transcendent, inviting viewers into a tactile and contemplative experience of form, light, and space.
